Appraisal contract to evaluate the mobile assets of PMG Asturias Powder Metal S.A.U. from Mieres (Spain). The company is part of PMG Holding, which operates a number of production facilities and offices in Europe, North America and Asia. PMG supplies powder metal components and systems to the automotive industry using automation technology, cutting-edge production processes as well as fully automated and standardized production lines. The globally operational medium-sized company produces 500 million automotive parts each year, from small shock absorber valves to big ring gears for xEV reduction transmissions. The company produces approx. 400 million shock absorber parts per year in fully automated production lines, approx. 60 million transmission components, approx. 20 million thereof being synchronizer rings, approx. 30 million synchronizer hubs and more than 8 million sliding sleeves. Powder metallurgical fabrication is a simple, efficient and precise process, during which special metal powder is formed into the required shape using a press at low heat. Subsequently, the still unstable workpiece is sintered at temperatures between 1,100°C and 1,300°C, virtually “baked” and hardened. In the sintering process, the microstructures of the metal combine to form a highly stable, precise steel part that can be further treated in downstream steps as required.
