Appraisal contract to evaluate the mobile assets of OQmented GmbH from Itzehoe. The company was founded in 2018 as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology in Itzehoe and develops ultra-compact MEMS-based laser scanning displays and high-quality 3D sensing solutions for mobile and stationary applications. The company creates highly integrated “light engines” for stylish, all-day wearable AR/MR glasses. The core is the patented Bubble MEMS® vacuum encapsulation combined with proprietary electronics, software, and the energy-efficient Lissajous scan pattern. With approximately 75 to 80 employees and several branches in Itzehoe, Kiel, Jena, and Palo Alto, it is continuously expanding its R&D expertise and production capacities. The Series A financing round raised approximately $20 million in March 2023, including Sharp as a strategic investor. The service profile includes complete plug-and-play LBS systems consisting of MEMS chips, electronics, lasers and software for AR glasses and 3D sensors in various industries.
